How to Remove Silence from Your Video — 3 Easy Steps

Magic Video Cutter automatically finds and removes every silent gap in your video. Perfect for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok — everything runs in your browser. No upload, no sign-up.

Upload Your Video

Drag and drop a video, or click "Choose Video." MP4, MOV, WebM, and AVI are all supported. Up to 100 MB. Your video never leaves your device.

Adjust the Settings

Set how sensitive the silence detection should be and the shortest pause to cut. The defaults work well for most videos — you can adjust and re-cut as many times as you like.

Cut & Download

Click "Auto-Cut Silence." The tool detects and removes the silent parts, then gives you a clean video to preview and download.

🔒 100% Private — Your video never leaves your device

Magic Video Cutter runs entirely inside your browser. Your video is never sent to any server. Close the tab and it's gone — great for personal footage, interviews, or anything private.

🎯 Tips for Better Cuts

Start with the default, then adjust

The default setting works well for most speech videos. If it cuts too much, slide Cut Sensitivity toward "Less Cuts." If it doesn't cut enough, slide toward "More Cuts."

Use 0.3–0.7 s for speech videos

Short pauses between words should stay in. Set Min Pause Length to at least 0.3 s. For lectures or interviews, 0.5–0.8 s cleanly removes breath gaps without cutting speech.

Enable Fade In/Out for a smooth finish

The Fade toggles add a short fade at the start and end of your video. This removes the jarring hard-cut look — great for Reels and Shorts.

Keep files under 100 MB

The tool loads your video into browser memory. Files over 100 MB may crash the tab on some devices. A 60-second 1080p clip is usually 30–60 MB.

Chrome or Edge on desktop is fastest

Processing speed varies by device. Chrome and Edge on desktop are fastest. Mobile works but takes longer — keep videos under 50 MB on phones.

Re-cut without re-uploading

Not happy with the result? Adjust the settings and click Auto-Cut again — no need to re-upload. Click "New Video" only when you want to start with a different file.
