MagicToolbelt is a free collection of browser-based file tools — compress images, cut video, organize PDFs, fix broken text, and more — built around one idea: you shouldn't have to upload your files to a stranger's server just to edit them.
Every tool on this site processes your files directly in your browser, using technologies like the Canvas API and FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing you drop in — a photo, a video, a PDF, a screenshot — ever leaves your device. There's no server storing your files, because there's no server involved in the processing at all.
That matters most for the files you'd hesitate to hand to a random website: contracts, medical records, private photos, unreleased footage. With MagicToolbelt, that hesitation isn't necessary.
Ten tools cover the most common everyday file tasks: image compression and format conversion, video cutting and GIF export, PDF merging and splitting, subtitle/caption export, text cleanup, screen recording, and privacy blurring. Each one is free, requires no account, and adds no watermark.
MagicToolbelt is an independently built and maintained project. It started as a way to solve small, recurring file annoyances without relying on ad-heavy upload services — and grew into a full toolbelt.
